Collect less. Explain clearly.
This notice describes the information Daily Elon Musk processes when you browse the site, join a briefing or contact us.
Information we collect
If you join the newsletter, we collect your email address, selected delivery frequency and signup time. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message. Hosting and security systems may process basic request information such as IP address, device or browser type, requested pages and timestamps.
Our private audience dashboard records the page visited, timestamp, referring website host, browser language and an approximate country code supplied by the hosting network. Your browser creates a random visitor identifier that is converted to a one-way hash before it is stored. The audience database does not store your raw IP address, name or email address.
How we use information
- Deliver the briefing you requested.
- Maintain site security, availability and abuse prevention.
- Respond to questions, correction requests and advertising inquiries.
- Measure site performance using aggregated information when analytics are enabled.
Retention and security
Newsletter records are kept while a subscription is active and for a limited period needed to document opt-outs and prevent unwanted mail. Anonymous audience records may be kept to compare long-term hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly trends. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices
Every briefing includes a link to change between daily and weekly delivery or unsubscribe. You may also request removal by contacting us. You can remove the random visitor identifier by clearing this site's local browser storage, and you can block browser storage through your browser settings. The public reading experience does not require an account.
